What is a 110V Split-phase Photovoltaic System?
A 110V split-phase system uses a single-phase three-wire system (L1+L2+N). The output voltage is 110V between L1 and neutral, and L2 between neutral; the voltage between L1 and L2 is 220V. A single inverter provides both voltages simultaneously: 110V for ordinary household appliances and 220V for high-power equipment such as air conditioners and water pumps. No additional step-up transformer is needed. This is the mainstream residential photovoltaic energy storage solution in North America and Latin America, supporting both off-grid and hybrid energy storage architectures.
